With a little work and a few upgrades the landmark can again rise to prominence it once enjoyed. An overall worthy resort in a great location.
The good number of guests that are continuing to give excellent reviews really enjoy the home away from home vacation destination and the the willingness of the staff to solve their problems.
Amenities: A water park with wading pool, waterfalls, barrel bucket dumps, rain tree umbrellas, bar jet tunnels, plus a 4 foot deep lap pool, 8 foot spa and putt-putt.
Rooms: Oceanfront Rooms are available with a king or two double beds, private balcony, wet bar with refrigerators, microwaves and free wireless Internet.
The Sands is another of those resorts that knows what it does and it keeps on doing it. Solid family vacations without too many bells and whistles.
Location: The Sands Resort Myrtle Beach is in the quiet Arcadian Shores area of North Myrtle Beach, two miles from Barefoot Landing.
Amenities: include Ocean Annie's beach bar, indoor and outdoor pools, a lazy river and Atlantis Spa.

Recent reviews: Last time we visited the Sands Resorts they were starting to show signs of aging. Seems not a whole lot has been done to slow the process. Then this time reviews are only slightly above the norm for Myrtle Beach. The Lazy river is continuing it's flow and there is some heating in the pools. Seems if you come expecting a budget family resort with not too many frills then you won't go home disappointed.
Location: Plantation style AAA 4 diamond resort with a private beach in the heart of the community. 12 miles from the Myrtle Beach International Airport.
Amenities include a seasonal pool, bar, European spa, steam room and sauna, sundeck, championship golf course, tennis center and 24 hour front desk.
Kids: Seasonal children's activities are available at the Fishtank Kids Club and there is also a seasonal water slide.
Rooms: 397 mostly ocean view guestrooms and eight suites. They have high speed Internet access, in-room safes, coffeemakers, washers and dryers, complimentary newspapers, desks and refrigerators.
Reviews: Great service around the resort, including by the pool, made for relaxing resort style vacations. Guests reported that this had the style and luxury and ambiance of an upscale Caribbean resort. The choice of large pools and hammocks that cover the lawns impressed guests. Returning guests rate this the best resort in myrtle again and again. Around $250.

Reviews: Among the best myrtle beach condo resorts. Guests were very impressed with the magnificent pools, the security, the decor - all of which were first class. The ability to walk straight out onto the beach was also nice. Kids did not want to get out of the sand pool while adults lapped up the elegance of this condo resort which is more than a class up from most resorts at Myrtle Beach. Everything, including the whirlpools is new and in top notch condition.

Rooms: Whole range of room options in different towers. Many of the rooms do offer quite good ocean views. This is a view form the 5th floor paradise tower in the video below.
Couples and families alike remain committed and happy with this hotel and it continues to rank well with guests who give it excellent reviews. The lazy river and the cleanliness of the pool area continue to impress.
Some say not to get the Seaside and Starfish towers that are not as nice as some of the other accommodations. Guests liked the abundant pools, hot tubs and free wireless.

Reviews: Guests loved how the resort is fully equipped, the indoor pool, having valet parking included in their suite, the absolute luxury rooms. Although not on the beach (about 1 mile away) guests rated this resort equal to the very best in the area and it's good value.

Reviews: Guests loved watching the dolphins go by and the outdoor heated pools. Some found this was a luxury resort with the added advantage of condo facilities as well. Starting at about $250, this resort is more expensive and more luxurious than most and this is reflected in better reviews.

Reviews: The rooms are big, clean and have great housekeeping and room service. Many rate this as the best place to stay for a family with children. They also love the restaurants, kiddie pools and activities.
Ocean Creek Resort Myrtle Beach continues to get great reviews as it has been doing for a long time. One of the main attractions is the creek that runs by the resort complex.
Location: Plantation style resort on 57 acres. Ocean Creek Resort Myrtle Beach is across from Barefoot Landing, set in the old oaks and a has a 24-Hour gated entrance.
Amenities: include great golf and tennis and the convenience of the location across from barefoot landing, golf department concierge, full service tennis center, exercise room, game room, playground, indoor pool & jacuzzi, 6 outdoor pools.
Rooms: 15 story oceanfront towers on the beach. Lodges have fully equipped kitchens, living and dining areas that are perfect for vacationers. Then there is the Greens Townhouses for golfers, Garden Villas and Tennis Villas.
Ocean Creek Resort, Myrtle Beach
Location: Beach front - condominium resort.
Kids: New Island Oasis kiddie park featuring bucket drops, water streams, and fountains. Children's activities (Mon-Fri) include supervised arts and crafts, pool games and treasure hunts.
Amenities: water parks for adults and children, dining in on-site restaurants.
Rooms: New! 52 guestrooms in a tower of Condominium Units featuring 1, 2 and 4 bedroom condos.
Reviews: Rates at about $150 can go much lower out of season. Families really liked the new pool facilities for the children and the central location. Also, the rooms are clean. Overall of a higher standard than many resorts around this price while rating almost as high as some of the more expensive. Great value and luxury for a 3 star even if you do have to park across the road.

Location: at Barefoot Landing with all it's conveniences one mile from the beach.
Amenities: Breakfast buffet is available 7 days per week. Indoor pool and whirlpool.
Rooms: 138 guest rooms come equipped with all of the standard amenities you expect.
Reviews: Guests reported first class service and enjoyed the location. Nothing seems to much amiss which is not something you could say about many resorts in Myrtle Beach. All for around $150.
Location: Beach Cove condo style resort is at Barefoot Landing.

Reviews: Guests enjoyed a relaxing time with their families. Plenty of good facilities and restaurants to enjoy.

Reviews: Far above many others in Myrtle Beach. Guests found fully decked clean rooms, often with complimentary champagne. Service was great. For the same prices you will find it hard to do better than this outstanding resort.
